When the congested beaches of Calangute and Anjuna oblige you to look for an alternative, head for the Candolim Beach. Candolim Beach is a much needed reprieve from the beaches that spill over with people. Though it is in no way an unfrequented beach, yet it is not difficult for you to find a sequestered spot where you can lay down and relax. The sandy stretch of the Goa's Candolim Beach runs into the Calangute Beach which is a busy commercialized center. Candolim beach is a long stretch of uninterrupted beach that has the scrub-covered dunes as its backdrop. The serene and tranquil ambience of the beach favored by many is the result of the absence of the resorts around the beach. But this should not lead you assume that there are no tourist accommodations near the Goa's Candolim Beach. Infact there are a plethora of big and small hotels near the beach. There is another fact that makes Candolim famous. It is the birthplace of the greatest Goan freedom fighter, Abbe Faria.
If you consider yourself to be a pro in angling, you can try your skills at Goa's Candolim Beach. There are umpteen opportunities for you to indulge in a variety of water sports, right from parasailing to water skiing. In case you can't summon your courage to engage in these activities, there are specially appointed guides who will help you out. Another major attraction of the Candolim Beach is the boating excursions that allow you to enjoy sight of the smoldering sun dipping into the sea.
