Vagator Beach in Goa

The Vagator Beach is located in North Goa , a beach with silvery white sands inmarker contrast to the black lava rocks encircling it ,that is Vagator Beach. This beach is located just 22 km away from Panaji.

Vagator Beach Goa a picturesque beach in Goa is divided into two parts the Big Vagator and the Little Vagator by black lava rock outcrops. Big Vagator is flanked by the 17th Century old Chapora Fort ,this beach is reached by a rough path through red laterite cliff.Little Vagator is detached in a cove from the adjoining Big Vagator by rocky outcrops. The Little Vagator is home to Israelis who arrive here on vacation or are residents here so the beach has come to be known as Beach of Ozran (little Israel).

In the southern part of Vagator Beach in Goa there is the famous Calangute Beach. Part of a 30km long stretch of coastline on the west coast of Goa, the Vagator beach captivates with its scenic beauty. There are lines of coconut trees dancing rhythmically and the water of the Arabian sea changing its color from aquamarine to emerald green all weave a magic .
The Chapora Fort which overlooks the Vagator Beach Goa, is at the northern end of the beach . It was built by Adil Shah , and later on Mughals and Portuguese used it when they ruled over Goa.

The fishing village Chapora near the beach, has myriad scenes of the rural world with the fisherwoman selling the fishes or carrying nets full of fishes and the children frolicking around.

The pristine white sandy beaches , ensconced in its own world separated from the hustle and bustle of the city is really mesmerizing . The gentle rays of the sun create magic on the sands changing to that of a golden hue. Vagator beach is a virgin beach and while you walk on the beach, with the cool gentle sea breeze carrying little drops of seawater touching your face, you feel you are lost in your own world.

You can trek over the rocky outcrop to the Chapora Fort, a vivid reminder of the Portuguese rule. Experience a panoramic view of the beach adorned with coconut trees from here. In the village you have scattered little cottages appearing just like a page out of fairy tale.

Here you will find some local shops selling artifacts, antiques, trinkets , buy some as gifts .Also don't forget to try out the Goan delicacy Bebinca ,available in the shops here at Vagator Beach.

In Vagator you have only some guesthouses or if you are lucky you can get a house on rent. The Dabolim Airport is just 29km away from Vagator beach. The Karmali railway station is for those who travel by train and the road transport is sound with regular bus service here.
