Madgaon Beach in Goa

Goa Beaches - Goa has got a glorious history richly preserved in churches, forts, traditional homes, villages and its cities. From miles and miles of sunny beaches, to the splendors of its quaint cities, towns and cobbled alleyways, Goa is more than just beaches and sunshine. It's also the charm and magic of toxic resorts, a verdant green countryside, lush green forests and abundant wildlife topped with the legendary warmth and hospitality of the Goan people.

Madgaon, south of Panjim, is the second largest town in Goa and the chief commercial center. Madgaon is well connected to south Goa's beach area. The distance to the beachfront is a mere 10-15 minutes drive. The prime attraction of Madgaon is the Benaulim Beach which lies 7 km west of Margao. People visiting the Madgaon Beach also visit other places of interest in Madgaon such as the Holy Spirit Church founded in 1565 and the distinctive cross in front built a century earlier. One cannot miss the large rectangular 'Jorge Barreto' park in front of the colonial-styled building with its arched corridors. Other interesting places are 'Closed' Market called, in the Portuguese language, "Mercado de Afonso de Albuquerque" Anna Fonte (natural springs), the Hindu crematorium the Muslim burial ground or 'Kabrasthan' both situated on Pajifond's Rua de Saudades.

Goa is much more than just beaches and sea. It has a soul which goes deep into unique history, rich culture and some of the prettiest natural scenery that India has to offer.Much of the real Goa is in its interiors, both inside its buildings and in the hinterland away from the coastal area.

Sea, sun sand and unlimited fun, the beachcombers can look forward to these and much more in the beaches in Goa. Goa has almost become synonymous with its beaches which have gained immense popularity among the tourists and the beach lovers alike. The warm, appealing, tropical Goa Beaches are the major draws for the tourists heading for Goa.

Tour of Goa Beaches - No other Indian beaches can match the popularity of the beaches in Goa. Besides their gorgeous beauty, the Goa beaches are also equipped with almost all the facilities. The most developed beach segment in Goa is the Calangute-Baga-Anjuna belt, north of Panaji. There is a cluster of forty spectacular beaches. Though all of them cannot be called swimmer-friendly beaches, yet that does not curb their charm. The north Goa beaches in Pernem subdivision have a primitive appeal. The unspoilt beauty of Keri, Arambol and Mandrem and Morji is what many a beach lover would trade the world for. If loneliness is what you are looking for, the Agonda Beach might just be the perfect place for you. The Colva Beach, to the north of Palolem is a captivating stretch of sand that sports a carnival atmosphere. For those who can't resist themselves from plunging headlong into water at the first sight of the sea, the Bogmolo Beach is the ideal choice. If the mention of water scooters and speedboats gives you that thrilling feel, then Dona Paula beach is the place to be. Goa-Travel.com is your indispensable e-travelogue as far as providing valuable inputs on the beaches in Goa is concerned.
